Head guide, Tess Atie, is a local Aboriginal woman who grew up in and around where Litchfield National Park now lies. As a former park ranger and wildlife park guide, her deep knowledge of the natural and cultural history of the area developed from both traditional and mainstream learning.
Tess is training other local Aboriginal guides to provide them with opportunities for employment in the tourism industry.

Wet season tours
During our tropical summer, from about December to May, some roads in the Top End are closed by floodwaters. Despite this it is a wonderful time for a day trip to Litchfield or beyond. Waterfalls are in full and dramatic flow, the whole area is green and lush and alive, and you can usually swim at Buley Rockhole, Florence Falls and many other waterholes in clean water without the crowds.
